AMF Guaranteed Stop

MT4 and MT5 server plugin that insists on a Stop Loss on every trade, keeps the client from increasing the potential loss, reserves margin for the worst-case loss and can charge a fee for the guaranteed stop. Free 14-day trial.

AMF Guaranteed Stop is a pair of server plugins, one for MetaTrader 4 and one for MetaTrader 5. They make your trading server insist on a protective Stop Loss on every trade and reserve enough margin to cover the loss that the Stop Loss allows. They are built for brokers who work under AMF (France) rules and need to limit the risk a client can take.

A technical tool, not a compliance certificate. The plugins apply the rules you configure. Whether your setup meets a particular regulation remains the broker's own responsibility.

The five rules

For every account and symbol covered by your rules, each plugin does five things:

  1. Requires a Stop Loss. An order without a Stop Loss is rejected.
  2. Limits where the Stop Loss may be. The distance from the price to the Stop Loss must be between your minimum and maximum, in points.
  3. Never lets the client increase the potential loss. The Stop Loss may be moved closer to the price, never away from it and never removed. Changing only the Take Profit is always allowed.
  4. Reserves margin for the worst case. The margin of a trade is the larger of the normal margin and the maximum loss at the Stop Loss.
  5. Charges an optional premium (an extra commission per lot) when a Stop Loss is triggered, as a separate operation on the client's account.

Two optional extras: a limit on the volume per symbol, and a ban on Buy Stop and Sell Stop pending orders for chosen account groups. Distances are in points (1 pip = 10 points on a 5-digit quote).

What the plugins do not do

  • They do not change the price or the way the server executes a stop order.
  • They never block closing a position and never close a position by themselves.
  • They do not touch accounts and symbols that no rule line covers.
  • When they are not sure (for example the server cannot answer a question), they do nothing and the server handles the request as if the plugin were not installed.

Licence and free trial

The plugins need a licence for using the plugin on your trading server. It is not a MetaTrader licence, and your agreement with MetaQuotes is not affected. A free trial starts automatically on the first start without registration and gives the full plugin. When a trial or a licence ends, nothing breaks: the plugin stops intervening and the server executes orders as if the plugin were not installed. There is no demo mode with a limited number of trades. The licence is a subscription in CPlugin Toolbox; if you already pay for this plugin, write to support before upgrading so that you do not pay twice.

What the plugins send

Only what is needed to match your licence to your server: the plugin's own random key, the licence state, the company name and the server name, and the versions and start times. We never collect user data. Nothing about clients, accounts, orders, trades, prices, plugin settings, server journals or the server database is ever sent. The full list is on the telemetry page.
